April Artist Feature: Amelia Jamerson

Join me in welcoming our featured April artist, Amelia Jamerson of @18lovesart !!
Thus lady is a ray of sunshine and so is her art. Her one of a kind illustrations are booming with vibrant colors, positivity, and inspirational themes.
Q: Where are you from and where did you go to school?
I'm born and raised in Savannah, GA and stayed in school here. I was at Savannah Arts Academy for high school, then attended SCAD and majored in Advertising Design.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Inspiration is found in every moment of every day. I'll look at a spoon and see a scene or get inspired from seeing someone in the grocery store. I pay attention to all of the details and welcome a childlike imagination at any given time.
What are your favorite mediums?
Markers make my heart happiest. I also enjoy using colored pencils and gel pens.
When you're not doing artsy things, what can you be found doing?
Eating ice cream sundaes on Mondays, watching repeat cartoons, or wiggling around somewhere to live music.
Who are some artists that influence you?
Amanda Oleander really inspired my current style. I had never explored using markers before meeting her. This was a little over two years ago.
What new project/ series are you most excited about and why?
I am hoping to make a coffee table book by the end of the year - a little something with lots of illustrations and the stories paired together as an easy read. This is most exciting because it's a place I've always dreamed of so to be closer to that vision makes it impossible to sit still.
