Moss & Marsh
Textile Arts Camp!
Regular price $325.00
Does your child love to create?! Do they dream of sewing and making artisan crafts? Candace, owner of Moss & Marsh and textile designer, is excited to host the first Textile Arts Camp at the Love Lane Rainbow House! In this camp, students will learn a variety of fabric design methods and create a finished project each day. At the end of the week, they will get to take home their own mini sewing machine, tapestry loom, and projects. There will be a gallery reception Friday evening for friends and family to view their creations!
June 29-July 3, 10am-3pm, ages 7-18
Day 1: Learn to Sew!
Each student will get to know their new mini machine. They will learn how to thread it, sew a straight stitch, stitch fabric together, create a ruffle and hem. They will make a heart or star pouf keychain.
Day 2: Shibori & Batik!
Students will learn these ancient forms of Japanese and Indonesian resist dyeing. They will dye a tea towel and 1/2 yard of fabric that they will turn into a pillow.
Day 3: Felting!
On day three students will make fabric from wool. They will create a felt bowl, a felt landscape painting, and experiment with needle felting.
Day 4: Tapestry!
On their own mini loom, each student will design and weave their own wall hanging tapestry.
Day 5: Printing!
On the final day of camp, students will create their own printing blocks and get to try screen printing. They will design a repeated pattern and print fabric that they will sew into a tote bag.
All materials are included in the price of the camp. Campers should bring their own lunch. Only 10 spots available. Email Candace at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions.
